Network Support Engineer Tier II
Location: Walpole, MA
Compensation: Based on experience

Position Description
The Network Support Engineer II is responsible for handling tickets that have escalated beyond initial troubleshooting, proactively monitoring equipment, performing updates and configuration changes, and equipment documentation.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Responsible for working tickets assigned to the Tier 2 Team for a wide variety of issues.
- Assist Tier 1 team with questions via chat and taking escalations.
- Maintain, implement and support customer network infrastructures including switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Configure and manage VLANs, ACLs, routing protocols (such as OSPF, BGP), VPNs, and other network technologies.
- Perform configuration changes per customer or project requests.
- Perform updates to equipment.
- Monitoring network performance and security
- Assist with documenting procedures for both internal and external use.
- Configure and test equipment for new and upgrade properties.
- Testing of new solutions and/or products.
- Experience with PBX or Mitel systems a plus.
- Flexibility to work in shifts for 24X7 support.
- Responds to emergencies and requests for support outside normal work hours (on call support on a rotation basis).
- Promotes teamwork among and between all members of the organization.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals
- Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as communication skills
- IP addresses, Subnetting, VLANs
- Knowledge in server administration, network security, data base management
- HP Switch CLI
- Cisco Switch CLI
- Wireless network fundamentals
- Pre-employment CORI, background check and drug test is required
