Sales Engineer

Position Description
The Sales Engineer is responsible for building BOMs and SOWs associated with furthering the Blueport sales efforts. The Sales Engineer will work closely with the National Sales Engineer to collaborate on work to be completed in a given time frame based on demands of the business. The Sales Engineer will also work closely with the Senior VP of Sales to help solve problems and manage expectations of the customer. A steadfast “get the job done” attitude and passion for customer service is a requirement. Hours will vary and commuting throughout the U.S. to visit clients is required. Responsibilities and Duties

  • Support sales efforts by identifying customer needs and engineering adaptations of products, equipment, and services using Blueport standards.
  • Attend conference calls with customers to help identify needs.
  • Follow through on action items to develop and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Provides product, service, or equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Contributes to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed, recommending options and courses of action, and implementing directives.
  • Determines improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, supplies, or service applications in the customer environment and engineering or proposing changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Three years experience
  • Highly organized, self-disciplined, and a quick learner
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
